Last Friday the 2nd quarter Gross Domestic Product report came in below the already lowered expectations of economic growth. The excitement of the much-talked about two stimulus packages, one under President Bush and the other under President Obama has done its job! Put us another 1trillion dollars in debt.

As I go around the business community it is apparent to me that the business community has reset its expectations from the hyper days of 06-08 to that of earlier in the decade. Why? Reality of the fact is that the world has changed due to the fiscal issues facing us for the last two years.

NCR City Hall in an electronic world!
Last week I went to city hall on my semi annual sojourn to put some money on my "parking meter key." The key is available to all people and is an easy way of paying the parking meters in Culver City. When I was on the city council, I advocated for this technology.

Sacramento is on vacation even without a budget! As California slowly dies, our elected officials are not in session in July, for over 75% of the time in the last 25 years our state government has passed a budget on time within the constitutional requirements. The19 billion dollar deficit of which 7 billion dollars comes from budget trickery of the 09-10 budget passed by the legislature and signed by the governor.
